Contests
Colorado Press Women sponsors a Communications Contest for professionals and a High School Journalism Contest annually. In addition, CPW presents the Communicator of Achievement Award to a deserving member and at least one scholarship to a Colorado college communications major.
2010 Communications Contest
Colorado Press Women, an affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women, invites you to submit entries in the annual communications contest. Select your best work produced between Jan. 1, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2009.
All members — students, professionals and retirees — can submit entries in the competition. Categories include print and electronic journalism, advertising, public relations, new media, photography, speech writing and authorship.

Contest Deadlines
Jan. 31, 2010 — for all entries
Winners of the state contest are notified by late March, and awards will be presented at the annual spring meeting April 17 (location to be determined).
CPW first-place winners are entered in the National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest. National awards are presented at the NFPW National Conference. The event in 2010 is scheduled for Aug. 26 - 28 in Chicago.
2009 Communications Contest
More than 50 entries were received for the annual CPW Communications Contest. Entries were judged by professional journalists, media representatives, authors and university professors.
CPW first-place winners are entered in the National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest. National awards are presented at the NFPW National Conference, scheduled this year Sept. 10-12 in San Antonio, Texas.
